Brady goes down

So, if you're like me and you spent a first round pick on Tom Brady, you know what today feels like.

In case you've been in a cave, Brady was injured on a pass only 10 minutes into the opening game vs. the Chiefs. It was later determined that Brady will miss the entire season this year.

If you're like me, you probably neglected the QB position for many rounds after snagging Brady in the first round. Right now, my only healthy quarterbacks are Jeff Garcia (mediocre) and Brady Quinn (not playing).

That's not good.

Right off the bat, I will say that it's worth trying to land Matt Cassell off the waiver wire. The cast of characters in New England's offense is still the same, and they did pretty well with Cassell at the helm. Now, I know they're working out Chris Simms, Daunte Culpepper and any other reject QB out there, but Cassell will start unless is completely falters. He knows the offense.

Other QBs to seek out that may be out there include Chad Pennington, Jason Campbell, J.T. O'Sullivan, Matt Ryan, Tarvaris Jackson and Joe Flacco. Pennington is the No. 1 choice at the moment.

Check out Thursday's column for more on this and other happenings in the fantasy world.
